Ditty For When Times Are . . . Bad
Behold, I
am the Lord,
the God of
all flesh:

What shouldn't get lost in the hubbub and drama
'Bout the nation's finances and new prez, Obama,
And groans 'bout the Dow, and media lip-spray -
What we all SHOULD be asking is, "What does GOD
say?"
As our nest eggs get scrambled and jobs
disappear,
We can curse the dumb Congress or cry in our
beer,
Blame Wall Street, or lobbyists, or to be really
mean,
We can blame Barney Frank, a.k.a. "Banking
Queen."
BUT . . .
God has a plan, and it's simple and true.
He says, "Trust Me, and be honest in all that
you do."
If you didn't lie and if you were not greedy,
If your conscience is clear and your tax claims
not seedy,
Then even if savings shrink to .00401(k),
I promise you, God's going to make it OK.
Though your future looks bleak, like trees
felled by a beaver,
Like your fate is as June and Ward-of-the-State
Cleaver . . .
STOP!
The Bible says not to fear the Ides of Marx --
Or anything else! 'Cause He'll
give us safe arks.
So don't yield to panic, palpitations or fuss,
Remember: God's expert at World Stimulus.
HIS STIMULUS PLAN: JESUS CHRIST!!!
If we'd look to Him, we would see what He's
doing
To save us from wickedness and national ruin.
If for righteousness' sake we would take a firm
stance,
He'll help us and give us another chance.
CHANGE IS GOOD, WHEN JESUS IS IN CHARGE!
Yes, our leaders aren't Godly, and need to
repent,
And this is the time for it. Remember? It's
Lent!
No doubt terrorists are planning to kick us
while we're down,
But let's unite around God's principles, and
smile, not frown.
QUIT WORRYING! OBEY AND TRUST GOD!!!
His power's like mighty tides sweeping the sand,
Getting rid of bad stuff that deserved to be
canned.
If crooked financing made mortgages sub-prime,
He'll cause the bad guys to slip on their own
slime.
If automakers' greed drove their firms into the
ground,
Good riddance! Replace 'em with leaders more
sound.
Forget housing bailouts: just let 'em pay rent.
God wants us to learn how our dough should be
spent.
But the very best way to jolt us from this rut
Is that government spending just has to be cut!
Let's shift the focus off raising more taxes
And roll up our sleeves, wielding sharp budget
axes!
URGENT NEED! AA-OO-GAH!
AND MEANWHILE, FOCUS ON WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING
. . .
Inspire the private sector to work and get
blisters,
In caring for our low-income brothers and
sisters,
Let's strengthen the family. Stop drug use and
divorce;
But us! Not the government. Willing hearts! Not
force.
But here is the clincher, and here is the way
To solve this whole mess. It's simple: let's
pray!
Let's pray for the strength to let what should
fail, fail!
And for the bold justice to put crooks in jail!
And where leaders have lied to us, Lord, please
expose 'em!
Right paths, make clear to us; wrong doors,
please close 'em!
If people's bad choices have left them reeling,
Don't take from the rich to placate them. That's
stealing!
FOCUS ON GOD'S MAJESTY AND OMNIPOTENCE!
But most of all, help us trust You through hard
knocks,
And remember salvation's our safe deposit box.
Never let us forget that through accidents of
birth,
You've planted us here -- the best nation on
Earth.
Help us improve things while here on our watch.
Help us succeed! We don't want to botch.
Onward, God's soldiers! To battle again!
He's with us. We'll win this! Hang on! And amen!
